Jodi Speaks Her Mind

Our God is faithful! 8/23/2005

Filed under: — jodi @ 7:27 pm

Here she is, our beautiful Adelina. She is deaf and has yet to speak a single word to us, but we are already starting to love her. And who could help it with a face like hers?!?

I could write pages, but I won’t today. Instead, just gaze on her and rejoice with us that we have found her at last!!

(Edited to add that Adelina is 4.5 years old.)

Jodi, It’s the most amazing resemblance ever! What a precious little girl that will now have the love of a father and mother forever. You seem so happy! Our God is awesome and faithful even if He does has to work on us a bit for us to be able to hear what He has for us. She is GORGEOUS!!!!! It’s like you just gave this little girl a lottery ticket to a life. Not to mention the insurmountable blessing of having a mother and father that loves the Lord and will teach her about Him. Congratulations Jodi and Steve on your new little addition :-)

Praise God! He is so faithfull! I am astounded by how much she looks like you guys. Why not though? She is your child and God’s plan from the begining has been for you to be a family. Praise our infalible God!

Are your pictures with Adelina from the same park you mentioned in your last post by St.Micheals? It is nice you see your child among “the happy children playing at the park”.

Adelina is a beautifull name. The closest meaning I could find is from Adelaide wich means noble and kind in spirit. She truly is beautifull!

I don’t know if she knows any sign language, but i found this website that has tons of words and how to sign them. Maybe you will find it usefull. http://commtechlab.msu.edu/sites/aslweb/browser.htm When you get back we can all take sign language classes together!

still crying,
Mary

sandi Says:

Today I kissed an angel.
I knew it from the start.
The first time my angel smiled at me;
I gave away my heart

Today I kissed an angel,
This angel child of mine.
Though not of my creation,
My child by God’s design

Today I kissed an angel,
My heart is dancing wild;
Our family, by a miracle;
Blessed by our angel child.

HOO-RAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t even handle the excitement!!!!

Tammy Says:

Hi! I have been praying together with Cheri Hayes during this whole process. I felt led that God wanted me to join hands with her and do battle for you both and the children you are going to adopt even though I only knew you through Cheri. So now I am so excited for you!! It is so good to see how God works. I know it has been a long road, but I know you have trusted God.

Some verses that I felt God wanted me to share with you are from Ezra. Ezra 1:1 says that “the Lord moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia…” . Just remember that our God can move on anyone’s heart (even an unbeliever’s) to accomplish His purposes.

Ezra 4:4 says, “Then the people around them set out to discourage the people of Judah and make them afraid to go on building.” Discouragement may come, but you must stay focused on what God has called you to do and move forward in faith.

Ezra 5:11 says, “We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth…” When discouragement comes, take a stand against the enemy and speak who you are as God’s children in Christ.

Ezra 7:6 sayes, “The king had granted him everything he asked for the hand of the Lord his God was on him.” As God’s children, God’s favor is toward you. Just claim this as you continue to finish the task you set out to do. Always pray for favor with every single person you need to have contact with in this whole process.

The Winesetts Says:

We’re so glad for you, and I wanted to tell you that when Nate first told me that ya’ll were adopting he said, “It’s going to be a girl. I know it.” :D God is good.

Bonnie M Says:

Hey! I’ve been trying to write this for 2 days - Michael is going through a growth sput I think and wants to nurse all the time… He seems less demanding today and is napping :)

As I read you e-mail and looked at the pictures, I had trouble seeing through the tears. Praise God for His faithfulness - you both are excellent parents already because He has prepared you and your sweet girl to be together at last! Aaron wants to meet her and he knows a little sign language already…

Love and Much Joy, bonnie

Lisa Albright Says:
