Departure Update 10/25/2007
We are busy busy busy getting ready to depart this weekend. Things are starting to come together. Even up until today, we were having to prepare last minute paperwork, so I drove into Phoenix today for one final trip to the Secretary of State office for apostilles.
We learned today that our court date has been moved from November 2 at noon to November 1 at 4 pm. Not a huge change, but certainly a welcome one. If we receive a favorable ruling and our 10-day waiting period is waived, we will be able to get Sophie earlier on Friday than we otherwise would have. That, in my opinion, is very good news.
I also had a special blessing today because I learned about a week ago that a dear friend I made while we were in Ukraine for Adelina’s adoption is actually with her husband and baby in Phoenix for 3 months. I picked her up today and she ran around with me and we had a lovely time catching up.
I realized just recently that Adelina and I stepped foot on U.S. soil on October 28, 2005 and now we are departing U.S. soil on October 28, 2007 to bring home her sister. 2 years to the day… how cool is that!?
