Adoption Process - Week 24 1/22/2005

Word from Kiev this week was the same - they aren’t accepting any dossiers except for families looking to adopt children age 10+. Our facilitation team and our agency director think this is a stalling technique as they prepare for the change in Presidents. Yushchenko is scheduled for inauguration tomorrow, Sunday, January 23, 2005. WooHoo! You are all invited to wear orange with us in celebration. :-)

Next week they will probably also not accept our dossier, so we’re praying for favor in February. Of all the delays we expected, this certainly wasn’t one of them. We appreciate your prayers during this waiting. Please pray specifically that they don’t shut down the Adoption Center completely like they did in 2004 when there was a change in directorship there. Ultimately, though, we are trusting in God’s timing and are hopeful to bring home L.T. sometime in 2005.
