nicely done, Nate! 2/7/2002
My friend Nate has been busy creating new artwork with his lego collection. Hopefully he’ll post a full-size picture of it soon on his LegoArt page.

Finally, almost a month later… I got my MacWorld SF 2002 pictures! Aside from the obvious highlights of the expo itself, my personal high point was getting to meet Jim Roepcke in person! Jim and Steve (my hubby) met for the first time (face-to-face) in Atlanta in 1999 but have known one another through various development communities for several years prior to that. A year or so ago Jim and I started chatting online and getting to know each other. I’ve since chatted with his wife and little girl, too!
Anyhow, Jim was kind enough to pick up my traveling companion and me at the airport in San Jose and taxi us into the city (and back again). We also had a grand time at a cozy Thai restaurant on thursday evening. Awesome eats!
Jim is now moving back to Victoria, so I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet him and hang out with him while he was still in the states. Here is a picture of us in front of the hotel I stayed at with my friend.
what’s up with the toc.oscar aim server? I use Adium for Mac OS X and can’t connect at all today. I am so pathetically addicted to my chat buddies that I stooped so low as to download the latest AIM for OS X. I didn’t even know they’d finally released it. I tried the beta awhile back and it was really slow. Anyhow, the actual AIM client was able to connect but was - as I remembered - as slow as mud. Actually, slower, when I went to type this post AIM was slowing everything down so badly I had to quit it. Argh!
If anybody knows what the deal is with the toc.oscar server please let me know. I sure hope it’s working again soon.
